This thread is to discuss what's thus far been going on around twitter. The prospect of Bobo saving up some brass razoos and coming on over to the wide, brown land.

So bobo, you want to see as many people as possible?
In Victoria, you can stay at my place and meet NovaX, Veomzor, Pete (I'm sure he'd come down to Melb from Sydney to see us both and knock two birds with one stone), DropFruit, DropTester, Sliggy, KARA

If you went to South Australia, you could meet both Gil and Kade.

Not sure about the rest of the gang.

Anyway, I can't speak for interestate noobs, but if you come to Victoria bobo, we can:
  • Give you a VB (you seem to be insisting on this most undesirable experience)
  • Play some SC2 :D
  • All meet up at a LAN in Melbourne
  • Have you teach me some guitar!
  • OK fuck listing everything - the sky is the limit :D
If you want to see the twitter shit... go to twitter

this is by far the best idea, and $2000 is nothing! like im looking at getting a 18,000 car at the end of the year, but then again im guessing you would have to bring double that for activities :D and if you came brobo you would not need to pay for alcohol as im sure me and everyone else would buy your beers for you! im happy to :D:D:D we could play the lets see how quickly brobo can hit the floor drinking game :D

ive moved out of home and have no sporting commitments so will travel anywhere! i'd be more then happy to come to SA with ya and meet gil irl and what not!

Different people have differing amounts of disposable income (not saying bobo is poor but he probably has quite differing expenses to you considering America doesn't basically offer their students free college educations). True story.

Hahaha oh shit you guys are hilarious.

About point 1:

We ALL need to drink a VB. Together. Fuck that, I'm not doing it by myself.

I think I would have to save at least $3,000 dollars to travel there. The round-trip ALONE costs $2,000 airfare, and its like a 18 hour flight.

I also want to tell you guys is that if I do in fact decide to go through with this, it won't be till next year. $2,000 dollars is a shit ton of money for a poor bloke like me. But I will be willing to save up.

Yeah nothing is free in America. People take shits on the word "free" here.

Even $3000 is not that much for a overseas trip. My europe trip cost me heaps more :( It depends how long you're going for and where you stay (when you're not near ppl you know).

My advice is save-the-fuck-up, but get a credit card before you leave (with no intention of actually using it) because the last thing you want is to be stuck without cash.

Try and convince others Americans while we're at it.

Lol, well I'll be living in melbourne by the time this rolls around, so lets face it, I will be there NOT drinking VB and NOT giving a fuck about politeness and political correctness. I will however love to troll and have decent beers. On another note, australia is a pretty rad place, and if you come, you should do it in earnest, and visit some of the famous spots (great barrier reef, sydney, canberra lol, john howards place of residence, drop-bear peak, mt Cthulhu) and we can go play some beach cricket, and slag on some drongos while sippin on a bevo, down by maccas, right out of a fat slab. Cheers cunt.

Don't worry bobo we'll all smash a VB down with you. I don't really mind it that much I just don't really enjoy it. But I am absolute understanding that it's a strong part of aussie culture and you should experience it as such :) It's like going to new york and having a hotdog, or switzerland and having some Röschti and Cervelat (mmm cervelat *drool*)

Here's what we'll do. We'll get as many proxies over at my place as possible one night, chuck a few snags on the barby, bust out a slab of VB, eat some tucker with some aussie rock in the background and watch some GSL on my telly afterward :D

If this happens, I might be able to take a road trip to Melbourne (Only an 8-9 hour drive coz I'm a baus) to meet up with you wankers. Would be nice to crack some wippers on the barbie with ya's. No worries mate, STREUTH!

P.S. No effing way am I going to stimulate the Victorian economy by buying a VB. You guys can suffer in your jocks!!!

So I was talking with one of my buddies last night. Apparently, he's been wanting to go to Australia as well, so at least now I have someone from home that would be willing to tag along with me for the adventure. :).

Do it angle, get your ass over here, you can learn about the finest australian rituals, such as binge drinking, fighting roo's and pissing on a cop shop with Brendan Fevola. Its a right of passage really.

So some updates regarding the trip:

Currently got $500 saved up in my checking account. I have a different idea though:

I'm planning on studying abroad next school year. I am planning on traveling to France and studying there for a year. I looked up some costs on google, and I actually save myself $1000 dollars if I travel from France to Australia. So this is what im going to do instead:

During one of the weeks I am at France, I am going to spend 1 week or a few days, depending on the situation, to Australia. I'll save myself $1000 dollars and a 8 hour flight sounds a lot better as opposed to the 18 hour flight. Not exactly sure when I will be travelling to France to study there, but it will DEFINITELY be within 1.5-2 years. I need to some French classes and still apply to the engineering school in Paris, which I won't do till next Fall.
