Hola a todos los músicos!

I thought I'd create a thread for all those who play an instrument. I know Bobo & Nape play guitar but I've got no idea about the rest of you.

If you play an instrument, please post the following:
  • What you play
  • How long you've been playing
  • A few songs you can play (max six - pick ur favs)
  • Songs you're currently working on (max six - pick ur favs)
  • Optionally, a pic of your instrument
So I play guitar. I've been playing for almost two years now. I'm still not very good, but I'm purely self-taught so it's a bit of a struggle (thinking of getting lessons soon).

Oh I like this! Using this as a placeholder :).

So I play guitar, my main instrument. I am able to play bass though(if you know guitar you should know bass), a little bit of keyboard, and I'm able to play the drums pretty well. I've been playing guitar for... uhmmm... shit, going on to 5 or 6 years now in December. I am self taught, I took music theory classes in college and met a producer/mentor/really good friend of mine, hes 65 years old, he has a huge story of his own in the music industry, and I met him and hes been teaching me ever since. He really really really is a talented musician. And here are my wives:
Spoiler
The one on the left is my acoustic, and her name is Elinoire. She is my first guitar, got her back in 2006ish.

The one on the right is my electric/epiphone. Got her like 2 years later, and her name is Baby Red.

Now songs I'm currently working. I don't really work on songs anymore, I mostly practice improvisation, my scales, and playing along to chords and/or songs and trying to put my own twist to it. I'm a really big blues fan, like B.B. King, Keb Mo, Muddy Water, Robert Johnson, etc etc., and in blues its not so much about learning how to play a song, but rather being able to improv to the same chords(all blues pretty much follow your standard 12 bars progression and/or your I-IV-V chord progression, for example E7-A7-B7). But there are some songs that I'm trying to "learn", for the lack of a better term, and here they are. They don't sound hard, I know, but remember that all these guys are improvising on the spot, which is what im teaching myself to do.

Songs I Know: Can't think of anymore :/.

Nice one Bobo!

You have sick taste in music. I'm big into blues as well. At the moment though I'm massively loving classical stuff. Going to re-string my classical guitar some time soon hopefully when I get time. Is super fun.

Hoping to find out that somebody here plays some really obscure instrument :D

I play bass guitar for my band, and I used to play bass for Arcade Made (a some-what famous Indie Qld band, check them out coz their new shit is epic). Dunno if it counts as an instrument but I do lead vocals as well.
Been playing bass since i was 14, I switched from electric guitar to bass when I was 14 coz there was literally no good bass players in my town. Been singing since forever...
I can't really be specific about what songs I can play since its really easy to learn a new one with bass, I can play most shit by ear.
Currently I am working on writing new songs with my band, they aren't anything too complicated but I do like chucking in some jazz style bass.
I pwn n00bz, and pros too.

Yeah man, the blues are just an amazing style. Not so much that its hard literally, but the emotion needed to effectively do it is just unbelievable. Like B.B. King says, "It's not about how fast you can play the guitar, its about the story you tell with it."

And about you getting guitar lessons; don't do it man :P. You got 2 years playing, the time for you getting lessons is over. If anything, you should take classes on music theory as it helps A LOT when it comes to figuring out songs, soloing, and making music composition a lot easier.

If I hit myself in rhythm, I sound like a musical instrument, does that count?
