Clan War - Proxi Team vs Clan Auto Last night I logged into battle.net and realised a slightly higher than usual number of members online. Blam, idea! I messaged ye olde Chad 'Sliggy[Auto]', challenging him for a clan war, which he kindly accepted. After lots of waiting and bickering about lineups, we finally got under way. I want to note that this was the first clan war for a couple of our newer members. Fight and Timothy, a personal congratulations to you on your games last night, you showed we made no mistake recruiting you. I think rather than banter on about who teched this and who cheesed that, it's easier just to post the standings (actually it was incredibly difficult, but oh well).
1v1
2v2
Final Result
Replays are here. I highly recommend the 2v2 games, some were quite entertaining. Everyone played really well. Congratulations to all players of both teams. Auto were a very well-mannered clan and I look forward to having other similar clan wars in the future with them. Well done, team.

Koth - NapE vs nextGen
Howdy all. After defeating WingS to claim the throne, the tyrant NapE (yours truly) began to terrorize the helpless people of prOxiteam. There was an uprising, and amongst themselves, the people of prOxiteam selected their fiercest warrior to charge with the dethroning of this menacing brute. nextGen was as skilful with the mouse as any had ever seen, and with a strong mind for strategy, the hope of prOxiland's salvation depended upon his success.
But alas, NapE had grown aware of this uprising, and was more than prepared for what was to come.
Game 1 - Python: nextGen PvT NapE
I land my CC at the 6 o'clock position, whilst Gen warped in at 3. He scouts after his first pylon, and arrives at my base just as I finish my depot. He spies my gas, so I slap down a refinery before my rax to avoid a gas steal. I left 1 scv mining gas to time it with the completion of my rax. This worked two-fold, because gen saw this and sends units to various corners of the map looking for some sort of evil prOxi build - even going to the extent of making a cannon at his ramp. Meanwhile, I go make two facts and research mines, looking to push him back up his ramp and expand myself. I move down my ramp with 3 rines, 1 vult, 1 tank and 2 scvs, and immediately encounter 3 goons. A short battle occurs in which he loses 2 goons and I lose my tank and my vult. His remaining goon retreats and I immediately start my expansion and research siege. Upon completion of these two things, a reaver abseils from a shuttle behind my new expansions minerals and convinces a friendly scarab to kamikaze into my scvs. A sieged tank at my choke scares the slug back into his shuttle, and he heads towards my main. The shuttle flies straight into two turrets, but manages to unload the reaver and goon before it pops. The reaver is able to kill another couple scvs before it is mutilated. Straight after this, I drop two tanks at HIS natural and kill several probes before dying to goons. At this point: Gen has his nat up and running, and his min-only half done - sitting on 75 supply. I have my nat only, sitting on 53 supply. We both add factories/gateways and get out macro up. I move out with a handful of vultures and start laying mines in key areas. Fortunately for me, gen did not have an observer at the entrance to his natural, and within 20 seconds he loses a total of 11 dragoons to mines - prompting me to push out. Despite the amount of goons he lost, with some awesome macro gen manages to break my push. While I was pushing, however, I had taken my dropship around and starting abusing the cliff above his min only, forcing him to pull back probes and fetch a shuttle with zealots. I had also begun an expansion in the bottom right hand corner of the map. I restart the push towards gens main, this time with a slight supply advantage. At this point in the game, because of the harassment, gen is quite low on probes, and we are now even in expansions. I had about 5 more factories than he has gateways, so in a couple minutes I was maxed at 2/2 and tornado into his min only ftw. GG.
1 - 0 NapE rocketing himself into the lead thanks to some dropship abuse (and some incredibly lucky mines)
Game 2 - Othello: nextGen PvT NapE
Gen warps in at the bottom left, I land at the top right. I go 1 fact expand, gen goes 2 gate goon expand - adding a 2nd expansion as soon as he see’s my CC floating to my nat. My plan was, seeing as I'm usually hell bend on early aggression, to get my 3rd expand up as fast as I could and surprise him with an early 200/200 3/3 army. Gen is able to delay my 2nd expansion with DT's for a minute, and seeing this he expands to the top left main. There is very little action. At the 13 minute mark, Gen drops 2 temps on my 2nd expo ledge and kills a good number of scvs. The shuttle then dies trying to get to my nat. Gen takes the min only expo at the 7 (or 6:30 position), and he makes about 6 stargates at the top left main. At 14 minutes he's maxed - what a beast! Here I was trying to play the macro game, and he beats me to 200/200 by about 40 supply and with 2 additional expos. Now stuff starts to happen. Simultaneously, Gen attacks a floating CC to the 12 o'clock min only (preventing me from expanding), and I launch an offensive with a control group of vultures and a dropship with tanks on his 2nd expo cliff. It stops mining momentarily, but is quickly despatched by goons and a shuttle with zealots. Little did I know, however, that all I was doing is freeing up supply for carriers. Straight after this, Gen attacks an expansion I had recently acquired at the 3 o'clock position, obliterating it and then moving on to kill about 15 tanks and a bunch of other stuff at my 2nd expo. We're both staying maxed as we battle, and I use my new units to attack the top left expansions. I take down the top left nat, and as I prepare to move up into the main, a scan reveals 4 carriers of doom, as well as another 6 flashing stargates. I immediately start goliath range, add 4 starports and start researching cloak (also adding CC's at both bot right main and nat). I attack move all my guys to his main to free up some supply. As I'm doing this, 10 carriers start killing my shit. They hover towards and destroy my CC at 12, so I move all my ground forces towards the top left main, hoping to destroy the stargates and prevent reinforcements from being made. But the now 14 carriers meet me there and, in a flurry of interceptors, all my shit dies. I did manage to take down the nexus, probes, 3 stargates and the fleet beacon before that happened though. Now the carriers head towards my nat. I have a number of goliaths at this point, as well as about 12 wraiths - and thank god for them. Taking down the single observer accompanying the carriers, my wraiths and goliaths manage to kill most of the carriers as they run away to find detection. Then came the waves of zealots. Gen had about 4k stockpiled, and starts spamming zealots against my goliath/wraith combo, pushing my right back into my main. He then sends his new units to take down all three of my bottom right expos, leaving me with nothing. I fight with all I have, but in the end, the money that gen had stockpiled through his superior expo/macro mid game was too much for me to handle, and I concede. GFG.
1-1 Genital flare~
Game 3 - God's Garden: nextGen PvT NapE
Gen had not played this map before, which I did not know until the game had started. He warps his Nexus at the top right, I land my planetary fortress at the bottom right. Deciding that FE terran is ghey, I go for a double fact vulture rush, whilst gen goes goons/range/obs. I get INCREDIBLY lucky with my vulture timing: just as gen's goons move towards my main, my 4 vults run in behind and mine their return path. A goon on the ramp stalls me for a moment, but I get in with 2 vultures and manage to kill a couple probes. However, in that ka-fuffle, gen lost 4-5 goons to mine gayness, and he starts moaning like a little bastard (<3). Phase two of my plan was a tank/2vult drop, in which I manage to kill over 10 probes and a couple goons. Satisfied with the result, I start my expansion. Gen is seriously pissed (and understandably), so he throws what he has at me (5 goons n 3 zealots in shuttle) in a ditch effort. I had tanks and a bunker on my cliff, and when that attack fails he types out. GG.
2-1 Genital Nape Rape
Game 4 - Luna: nextGen PvT NapE
Gen warps his brown Nexus at the top left position, and I land my orange CC at the bottom right. Gen pylons on 8 and scouts me first, then proceeds to make a zealot for early harassment. I see this coming and try to Boxer block it with a floating rax, but I fail. However, I managed to keep the zealot below the ramp with 5~ scvs and a rine above, and it dies having only killed 1 scv. I then tell all scvs to go mine again.....just in time to let another zealot in my base! A little micro war later, the zealot dies also having killed only 1 scv, but I had to pull 4-5 off the min line so it was more than worth it. Gen has added another gateway and is now doing a 2 gate goon /w range rush, while I make a tank in my main and use my scout scv to make a prOxi rax in his base. When gen's range completes, he dances his goons well and is able to kill all my marines on the ramp. I pull several scvs and try to use the tank to scare him off, but he just snipes it and starts to make his way into my ramp, dancing his little heart out. At this time, the vultures from my prOxi fact start laying mines in his main, and he runs all probes to MY base! He forces his way up my ramp, but scvs and reinforcement tanks dispense the attack. His final gasp is a reaver drop, which dies to tank fire without too much trouble. GG.
3-1 prOxi fever
Game 5 - Blue Storm: nextGen PvT NapE
Firstly, I'll mention that we had to REMAKE this game because Clash is an AWESOME alt-tab lagger. I believe the dialog in op prOxi went like this: "Hey Clash, gen and I are about to play a Koth game. We really need someone to lag the game - can you do it?" "Sure guys you can count on me!" "Tubular"
I land at the top right position, Gen at the only other possible one. I wall my choke and make my factory - looking to FE. Gen goes DT - hiding his tech at the 12 o'clock expansion. Gen's DT's stall my expo for a couple minutes, giving him ample time to double expo. We both macro - nothing happens. When I have 10ish tanks and some vultures, I go for my 'timing' push. Gen stalls my advance with about 8 goons - picking off vultures and making me siege here n there. I figure that he's been greedy and doesn't have much, so I continue my advance very aggressively. That was, until I hit the centre of the map and ran into his real army which was +30 supply over me. Needless to say, Gen rapes all my guys with a savage penis. He storms what forces he has into my main, killing many scvs before being shut down my reinforcements. But I was screwed. Gen had more expos, more macro, more supply.....a couple minutes later he attacks at double my supply count and I type out. GG.
3-2 Gen fighting back~
Game 6 - R-Point: nextGen PvT NapE
I land at the bottom right, gen at the bottom left. I wall off and go double fact, gen goes 1 gate robo (into reaver). I move out with my 1tank/1vult/rine/scv combo and set up camp at his choke. Just as I go to start my expansion, a reaver kills the obedient scv with haste. The shuttle then flies into 2 turrets and unloads the reaver on top of a mine. The reaver fires a scarab at a large cluster of scvs...however the scarab, rethinking his fate, decides that in fact he does NOT want to kill the scvs, and explodes harmlessly right in the middle of them. Gen laughs out loud and runs his goons down his ramp to die to mines/tanks, then types out. GG.
4-2 NapE retains his rightful place on the throne of masculinity
Game 7 - Azalea: nextGen PvT NapE
Cheese time! I land my CC at bottom left, Gen warps in at the bottom right. He makes a zealot from his gateway in his main, while making another gateway just outside my main. I didn't scout this, however luckily I walled with my rax and 2nd depot just before the shenanigans began. Gen makes a forge at home and pylon outside my wall - hoping to cannon my brilliant wall. Squeezing my butt cheeks closer together, I double fact in my main and also make a bunker. By the time the zealots/cannons break my wall, I have 3 vultures ready to kill the zealots (about 8 of the bastards). Gen also runs a probe in and starts to make cannons behind my minerals. His attack eventually fails to my vultures/scvs, and I begin to siege his contain. While all this was happening, I ran 3 scvs who got caught outside my wall earlier into his probe line and killed 5 probes He delays my tanks a little from breaking free, but once out, I run at his base and he just doesn't have the units to defend. GG.
5-2 Good Games Matey -.oV
All in all it was a good series. nextGen definitely has the skill to take me down in a Koth (we're currently 5-6 RvR in our bo99) - but it just wasn't his day, with lucky mines, vulture timing, as well as retarded scarabs all working in my favour. Gen has incredibly strong macro; the two games I didn't pull off some type of 2 fact bullshit I lost. GG's gen - was a pleasure

Koth result - WingS vs NapE
Howdy fellas. Most of you know me - I was invited into prOxi by everyone's favourite Endi just as you guys were tightening the recruitment process - then quit BW 'for good' at the start of last year - then returned unannounced just over half way through the year. Since then I just play when I can...sometimes days on end...sometimes not for weeks.
WingS and I played our games on Thursday - middayish for him and evening for this Aussie. We met in op prOxi and quickly drew a crowd! Our first few games had many observers, however lag became an issue and in the end we were left to ourselves. I am a Terran player, and WingS plays all - changing as he pleases. He chose Protoss for all but one of our games, which came as a delight to me as TvP is my best matchup (and I wasn't about to tell him that!).
Bo7 - Python as first, then loser choses.
Game 1 - Python: WingS PvT NapE
This was a killer game! WingS warped in his pale yellow Nexus at the 6 o'clock position, while NapE elected to land his orange Command Centre at 3 o'clock and promptly unload 4 SCVs to steal some blue crystals. Both players build as per usual: plyon, gate, assimulator from protoss - depot, rax, refinery from terran. Their scouts pass each other en-route to the enemy base and NapE (ok I'll kill the third-person)...I block my ramp with an SCV to stop his scout harass. WingS's probe tried desperately to get in, almost killing the SCV, but finally the marine popped out and held the block. WingS, not knowing my strategy, slapped down another gateway and robo shortly after - just in case I made an extra factory. He was right: I built a 2nd factory and was going for a Gundam-style early pressure build. WingS came at my choke with two goons to harass, and he loses a goon to tank/marine fire. This is just what I wanted, and immediately I charge down my choke and chase him back to his own. I then laid mines below it and camped there, while I threw up my expo. If a terran expands before a protoss, it's bad news for the protoss. As soon as he has an observer he tries to break my contain with 8-9 goons, but mines and sieged tanks below a ramp is incredibly imba (ssssh swami it’s IMBA!). ----Ok, I wanted to go into great detail as it was a great game, but the replay I was going off is corrupt. I'll do the best I can from what I remember--- I got my expansion up and online, keeping some troops at home in case he reaver or DT dropped me. This turned out bad, because he massed and broke my contain, regaining map control. I had lots of facts but had only just begun macro, so I wasn't able to push out just yet. But I still had the mineral advantage. As soon as WingS broke out, he took his natural and his min only. I was keeping a close eye on the map through scv/vulture/mine scouts, and saw the min only going up. I waited for the probes to arrive and move in with some vultures, as well as sneak 8~ vultures out of my main and run into his natural. The plan failed miserably: he had 5~ goons at his min only and slayed me, and the all the rest were dispatched without inflicting any real damage. In the end, I lost about 14 vultures for nothing, and that now gave him map control AND a unit advantage. I was amazed at how many units he had made considering the little time he'd had his expansion. As soon as that happened, I made a starport to try and claw my way back in the game.
I was upgrading from two armories, and was macroing as well as I could to keep my money down - but I was still confined to my choke. I was slow-pushing out and tried to expo to the bottom right expansion, but it was scouted and got shut down. My push kept getting knocked back, and it wasn't looking good. I drop his natural twice - both times with a tank and 2 vultures, and at the least keep him moving around to save probes. WingS started to make a nexus at the 9 o'clock main, and I spotted it with my scouts. This is where I was able to get back in the game. I snuck 4 tanks across the top of the map and, using some vultures I already had over there plus another 4 from a dropship, climbed up the ramp and started laying waste to the nexus. He shot a control group of units at me, but by then I had 4 tanks on the cliff, about 8 mines on the ground, a turret, and two partially built ebays blocking his move up the ramp. It was incredibly gay. The thing is, not only did this shut down his 9 o'clock expo, but I was able to siege and hit his min-only probe line, bringing mining to a halt. Eventually, he streamed a big line of units into the 9 main and tore it down, but I was able to shuttle 3 tanks from the main to the gap between the two mains (that is actually part of the bottom left expansion), and maintain my siege of his minerals! By that time I had quite a large army and must have been about 2/2, so I push out in a bit of a mass. He attacks it, but didn't have enough guys to break it. I was then able to start my bottom right expo, while he is only mining from his natural. With one final thrust of units at my expansion he types out. GG. 20 minutes.
0-1 NapE takes the lead
Game 2 - Neo Medusa: WingS PvT NapE
Wings warped in at the northern right hand position, I landed at bottom center spot. I scout the wrong way, then thanks to the neutral buildings on the map (and WingS's harass stealing my attention), my scout remains in that base for the next 5 minutes. I opted for a rather different strat: 1 fact/1 rax + academy....M&M+Tank rush. However WingS had other ideas, going for a super-aggressive 2 gate goon build. Because this map is a flat-land walk into the mains (no ramp), 2 gate goon with good micro can tear you apart pretty easily. I began losing marines to goon dancing, and when my tank came out it was also sexually abused by fagoons. I had to pull most of my SCVs and use marine/tank reinforcements to beat his initial goon squad, which unfortunately for WingS got trapped in the back end of my base and were fusion-cuttered to death. I start a bunker and Command Center at my choke/expansion, and get a couple sieged tanks on the other side of the river. No sooner does my bloody CC finish and I've maynarded SCVs does he come in for phase two of operation 'NapE rape'. His shuttle drops 4 zealots right on top of my tanks and they start dying, and more goons come rushing in the door. My marines kill the zealots before all my tanks die, and I use about 20 scvs and 1 remaining tank to prevent the advance of 8~ goons. About then, I FINALLY get my scout SCV out of the bloody top left base and it runs into his base. Surprisingly, I see only just see his expansions going up, so I'm very much still in this game. I take my mineral only behind my base, and decide to just build up a massive army and tornado ftw. So I'm going about doing that, and then he drops a reaver and two zealots on my mineral only. Thankfully, my turrets had forced him to drop a little way away from my SCVs, so I ran them right up and around the corner of that overpass behind your main, and my tanks finally (after being redirected away from it about 4 times) killed the reaver before he got many SCVs. I continue my macro and was upgrading from two armories. I do a scan blitz on the map, and since I don't really know it that well, many of my scans landed on sweet f--- all...water and cliffs and crap. However, I did scan his base and see some starports going up. . . . . but was too in everything everything else that I promptly forgot all about that and continued my tank/vulture macro. I floated a CC to the 9 o'clock gas expansion, and once I hit 200/200 began moving my units towards the center to go pwn him. About then, it dawned on me like a bag of bricks that I had seen those stargates about 5 mintues earlier when I was scanning. And about 12 seconds after I remembered, 8 2/2 carriers came in to ruin my party. I tried to make goliaths, but he laid waste to my new gas expansion and my whole army was incinerated in seconds. GG.
1-1 one a piece!
Game 3 - Destination: WingS PvT NapE
I spawned at the bottom, he spawned at the top. WingS builds a prOxi gateway just outside my base and I scout it, having played at least 1 iCCup game before in my life. I try to do the boxer block (float rax over SCV with marine behind), but was about 2 seconds slow and the zealot charges in and starts pissing me off. After much micro, I finally fend off the invaders with 2 vultures, having lost a number of SCVs. My scout SCV manages to kill the prOxi gate's pylon while he cheesed me, which was a bonus. WingS has a decent advantage at this point. I run my scout to his base and see he has 2 gates and a core. I try to vulture him, but by the time they arrive with mines, he has 2 goons on each ramp and has started his expo. Instead of expanding myself, I go for drop harass. I do some good damage to him, but when the dust had cleared, he had 2 bases and had started his 3rd in the top right of the map, while I was only really just getting my nat online. The game continued for a little longer, with me trying to use the cliff on the eastern edge of the map to push my way through his two expos. But he had too many units, and I was pushed back without too much trouble. Before I can properly establish my 2nd expo, he comes in with 4~ carriers and a number of ground units, and I type out. GG.
1-2 WingS takes the lead!
Game 4 - Lost Temple: WingS PvT NapE
The proving ground for legends. I made the comment when this game had begun: I remember when I had about 20 replays of SlayerS`BoxeR` playing on the Lost Temple in EACH POSITION! It was all anyone ever played, and I will always love that map Unfortunately, it was on this game where lag started to get bad, and all the observers bar Thugzta left in manner. I landed my CC at 9 o'clock, while WingS warped in at 6. I wall in (for nostalgic value), while WingS opts for a conservative 2 gate robo build - expecting dropship harassment. Luckily, that's not what I went for. Instead, I used a slightly odd build that I refined back in the day. I made my gas first to stockpile vespine, then went double mac shop - straight tanks. I was expecting shuttle/reaver/dt harrassment, so I was very turret heavy. When I had about 11 tanks, I moved out with a couple SCVs and went through the center of the map and straight down. He engaged me as I was nearing the temple walls, so I sieged everything and watched. It worked. About 6 tanks remained after his initial army was killed, so I un-sieged and then staggered sieged tanks forward until I could kill his expo nexus. I then pushed up his ramp with tank cover from below (and some turrets obviously). But.....he just kept making bloody units! I thought something was up, so I scanned the island and sure enough he had taken it, obviously before his natural. Luckily I had started my own expansion as I moved out (note: that is usually the best time to expand), so I wasn't behind in resources. I was slow at adding factories tho, and he almost killed my attack. But in the end, tanks shooting from below a ledge as others hop up is incredibly difficult to stop, and he typed out. GG.
2-2 Scores are even -.oV
Game 5 - Tau Cross: WingS PvT NapE
Wings got the 6 o'clock base, I got the 9. I walled in at my natural and sent two scouts. I found him at 6, so I sent the other scout to hide outside his wall behind his minerals. My scout in his base dies before it can see anything indicative of his plan. He attacks my wall with dragoons and manages to kill my wall depot before the tank can deter them. I made a prOxi fact with the 2nd scout SCV and floated it into his base, while researching mines at home. Then................a bloody scout pops up at my choke and starts shooting my tanks for an insane 8 dmg per round. I decide now is the time, and start laying mines inside his base with my 4 vultures. However, while attempting to micro SCVs making turrets without dying to that pesky scout (who ended up killing a tank and at least a couple SCVs) and my attack, the vultures died much earlier than they should have. It was clear now - he was doing the stove. In my favour, I had an expansion behind my wall, whilst he was yet to start his. He dropped DT's in my base and killed a few depots, but overall he did not inflict nearly enough damage.
On a side note: The stove is pathetic. You make scouts - they make turrets to kill them. Then you go DT??? But you just MADE them get detection....now you want to DT harass? It's the stupidest strat ever IMO. But after the game he said that it can work on lan latency......ah well I'll have to see it to believe it.
Anyway, once that was all said and done, I was way in the lead with about 7 factories, while he had barely got his expo online let alone add gateways. I took my 2nd expansion at the 12 o'clock position and just macroed. I kept a close eye on all other expansions, knowing that with more expansions than him, all I had to do was macro and the game was mine. And that's what happened. Once I was satisfied I had enough guys, I moved out (taking a science vessle with EMP for shits). A couple skirmishes later he typed out. GG. IMO probably the worst of our series tho....I feel we both played pretty poorly.
3-2 NapE back in front~
Game 6 - Othello: WingS ZvT NapE
I'm pretty sure WingS was pretty over it by now. He said that this would be the last game, and that's not a good thing to say before you start a game you need to win. I land at top right, he spawns at bottom left. I do a 1 rax FE, he does a 3 hatch muta build. His muta harass doesn't do too much, killing a couple marines and turrets. I scout his expo at the bottom right and, after making a sneaky rax at the bottom of the main, head towards it with a handful of units. Luckily, a scan sweep of the middle reveals a muta/ling army heading towards my choke, so I run back and semi-pincer his attack, which dies in a bloody mess (except some mutas that wussed out). I then go for the expo again, however 2 lurkers on the ramp kill a good 7-8 marines. A control of lurker/ling come to trap me in, but I am able to fight my way up the ramp and do a little back and forward marine micro to kill some stuff, reinforcing my attack with units from my sneaky rax. Eventually he kills that squad and the rax, and I start my 2nd expo, and he adds swarm to his arsenal. Battles rage back and forward just outside my base, with him forcing me to lift my 2nd expo CC a couple times to swarm/lurkers. I had so many minerals, so I started two more expos at the top left main and nat, and add another port and a physics lab. It's incredible how hard a group of M&Ms with BCs and vessles are to kill. The battles continue - him swarming and burrowing lurkers, trying to run into my main - me irradiating any defilers and lurkers I can. He is pushing me back further and further, but with the arrival of my first two BC’s, the tide begins to turn in my favour. My BC count slowly grows and I’m taking back ground. At this time he scouts my top left expos and sends a bunch of guys to slay them, so I lift and try to save SCVs. But I just had too many BC's by that point (10 or more), and I head towards his base with a couple control groups of M&M's and my Cattle Bruisers of Ultimate Glory. He throws what he can at me then types out. GG~~~
4-2 NapE is the new Koth!! (thats me!=D)
I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed playing these games. WingS is a skilled and mannered gamer, and no doubt we'll be playing many games in the future. I was beginning to think he would shoot through with the 4-1 for a little bit there, but I never stopped trying - and it paid off. I eagerly await the next Koth!
Gonna need some help gathering the replays...WingS you said you have auto-replay? edit: replays here
Good games WingS <3

koth maar vs wings
Hi, wings here.
koth vs maar played this week, we decided to play all 7 games. I played zerg, and maar played protoss. We took turns choosing maps, think we got through most of last seasons promaps.
I took the series down 6-1, dropping a game to some pretty solid play by maar on destination. It also came fairly close in several of the other games due to maars strong shuttle play/zealot/dt/storm drops, but in honesty i think i won this series because im more active than maar right now, which meant i had that macro edge.
gg's maar thanks for being a manner opponent and for giving me some fun games. I look forward to the next koth. :] Replays here

KotH - One vs Wings
Hi, for those of you who don't know me, i'm Nick aka prOxi.WingS. I played as the challenger for koth this week, and after some suprising games came out as the victor 4-3. We decided to go random and call our races.
Game 1 (zvz) python: One spawned at the 3:00 position, and i spawned opposite at 9:00. We both opted for similar builds, but ones strategy was to hold his ramp so that he can pop six mutalisks from both hatcheries, whereas mine was a kind of an aggressive build with lingspeed. I harassed his ramp trying to snipe lings, but he defended better. Unfortunately i was able to run lings into his base when he backed off my engagement. i proceeded to get a few drones kills but lost all the lings. One then countered me with his newly spawned mutes and leftover lings and beat my army easily. gg. I lost this game because my strategy wasn't clear cut like One's. Instead of making more lings to press the advantage and overrun his defence as mutas popped, i kind of made a few drones, a few more lings, and that 100 gas spent on lingspeed (had 2 drones on gas for awhile aswell) gave one the muta advantage he needed. 0-1
Game 2(pvt) destination: He spawned bottom I spawned top. He siege expands and I 1 gate range expand. I opt for reavers before 3rd base, and he produces tanks from 2 factories. With reaver micro that fails harder than the Uk's economy, i was able to put myself in a horrible position. To make matters worse i was stupidly greedy and took my fourth too. One comes out with a 6 fac timing push, and kind of stops outside my natural. I question this decision, since he had such a big army advantage at this point. Luckily for me though he didn't, my fourth base/legs kicked in, and i attacked into him with bigger supply, and then into his natural gg. 1-1
Game 3(tvz) bluestorm: Pads agreed with me this was the best game of the series. He spawned north, i spawned south. Very standard 1 rax into cc opening.. blah blah, he goes for a very standard 3 hatch mutalisk build. Since I was able to sneak and SCV into his base, i saw his tech, and opted for a 4 rax build after my +1 and rine upgrades. Bluestorm is a very difficult map to defend harass with mutalisks, and one abused this quite well, buying for time whilst he tried to get his third up. As I reach the middle of the map, i realise One has no lurker tech, he has a very large number of zerglings, and is going to attempt a flank. Seeing this i wait for marine reinforcements because i thought there was a timing for me there. I was right, and One's flank is beaten. I then proceed to take out his third with my next group of rines. Low and behold though, One had fast teched ultralisks, and incredibly by abusing his ultra armor was able to push back for ground slowly from his natural. After many ensuing battles, things look almost even. It was then i discovered irridiate for the first time. It's a very useful spell i found. I was able to sap his army and eraser his drones, and beat him back just before his 4th gas kicks in. After sniping his bases, and with no gas left for ultras, he typed out gg. 2-1
Game 4(zvp) longinus: One got top left and I got middle right. One Fe's, I make a few lings with speed to deny his scouting, not sure if he saw me producing 3 drones or not. He goes for +1 and what looks to be legspeed. I throw down a den and start lurker upgrade. I make 2 sunks at my nat and my third. The rush never comes but he starts the forge spinning again for +2. I must of done something horrifically wrong with my early drone production because he attack moves me and wins easily a few minutes later, what a rape gg. Paddy apologised after the game that he hates that style and its gay. I told him if i cant even get my drones/units ratio right i deserve to lose. 2-2
Game 5(pvt) zodiac: Game is like a mirror of game 2 except i get a faster reaver. I manage to do some harass and slow his natural down with goons/reaver, but One makes a turret underneath my shuttle and i lose it, so we were probably about even. Then my build is just slightly more refined than game 2. I expect a 6 fac push again so cut probes abit and pump units from 7 gates, but One actually opts for a fast third with quick weapons and armor. However he skips mines and vultures before his third, so my 3 base mass units choice ends up paying off when i attack move his natural. a minute later gg. 3-2
Game 6(zvt) loki: He starts at the bottom, i start at the top. He goes for a metal build and tries to harass with vultures but does no damage. I go 3 hatch mutas, when i arrive at his base, there aren't enough goliaths/turrets to defend, and i overrun him gg. 4-2
Game 7(zvp) colloseum: After the most ridiculous glitches one types out and we decide to regame.
Game 8(zvp) colloseum : I fe, he goes 12 hatch, 3 hatch gas build. I go for a sair/zealot attack to try and do damage early. However even though my sairs are able to harass pretty well, I think my attack came too late/speed came too late/he stuck with 4 hatches too long because i attacked into this huge blob of hydra and died. It's pretty much over at this point but i see if i can comeback in some way. My next attack has storm and some more sairs, but as im half way to his base he drops my main and morphs lurkers blocking my army out. I decide i've got no chance at this point and type out. 4-3
Overall i think this is an entertaining and close series. Props to the manners of my opponent.
gg's One, on with the next challenger. I'll upload replays to the koth download page.

KOTH Result - One vs Khas
After taking down Thanatos in the last koth game One was full of confidence going into this. But would it be enough to take on the korean?
Game 1: Python- One spawned in the 3 oclock position while khas spawned at 12. Game started fairly standard, fast expand for the protoss and 9pool speed for the zerg. Unfortunately the protoss's scouting probe died. khas made just 8 lings and speed to block scouting and put down a hydralisk den on 2 hatch's. Protoss made 4 zealots and a stargate to try to scout the zerg, but just as enough zealots had come out to kill the initial lings, the zerg powerhouse decided it was time to strike. 4 half dead zealots and 4 badly placed cannons was breezed over by the ling/hydralisk combo and despite the probe's courageous effort's, it was not enough and the zerg forces ran over the protoss.
GG 0-1 Khas
Game 2: Bluestorm- Protoss starting at the bottom left position while Zerg was at the top right. Same sort of starting build orders as the first game, Protoss fast expand and Zerg Overpool Speed. Unfortunately, for the Zerg, an overlord was lost while his concentration was elsewhere, trying to deny scouting. Successfully, too. Protoss was mentally in the game enough at this point, and did not expect a big group of lings to run right by his cannons. 7 got into the main and started harassing probes. A cannon was put down on the min line, and after a couple of successful probe drags, the lings tried to attack the cannon and got blocked by the rest of the probes. So now that the probes were dead, macroing time ! Protoss also managed to sneak in a probe to Zerg's main, saw a Lair and a Hydralisk den, assuming standard 3 hatch lurks. It was 2 hatch lurker drops though however. Fortunately for the Protoss, he had already a Robotics Facility and Obesevery was almost finished, so it was cleaned up very fast. From here, Protoss made and secured his 3rd base and Zerg teched up to Ultralisks. He was already quite far behind though, on army at least, and Protoss slicked through his army quite quick. He started taking out expansions and eventually it was just too much for Zerg and he was forced to gg.
1-1
Game 3: Rush Hour- Not too much to say about this game. One spawning bottom left and khas spawned at top left. One was a bit greedy here and tried a fast expand on a map that really doesn't suit it, and khas opened up 9pool speed again. One made 3 cannons and a nexus, with 3 probes on ramp to block runby and khas made 12-16 lings (not sure). But then khas didn't do a runby, but instead surrounded the cannons and attacked. They fell fast and One thought it was too far gone to carry on with the game. GG!
1-2 khas!
Game 4: Longinus- One spawning at 3 and khas at 6. One opening fast expand and this time khas opened with 12hatch, 11pool and a fast third base. Standard stuff. One opting for a 3gate speed zealot timing attack and khas opened 4hatch hydras. First attack by One dealt quite a bit of damage to khas, killing many hydras and a ton of drones at khas's main base. At this point, storm was researched and templars were out, and khas had a big bulk of hydras. There was a couple of small skirmishes by One's choke, but khas was pushed back eventually. One started up his third base at the double gas exp at 12.. ish and moved out with a ton of zealots and 5-6 templars. As Toss moved towards Zerg's third base, a group of hydras snuck behind the army and took out all the templars except one, and One didn't notice at all. It wasn't enough though, Zerg was overwhelmed by a big blob of zealots with +2 attack, and khas lost his third. At this point khas gg'ed.
2-2!
Final game (as requested by khas) Python- Protoss vs Protoss this game. Khas wanted to try something new. One spawned at 6 and khas at 12. khas opened up 2gate zealots and One with 1 gate zealots. Cross position zealot rush. Not going to happen. Khas realized this and after 5 zealots put up an expansion and started his gas. One was unaware of the expo as he had not scouted very efficiently. However, One had started his Citadel and another gateway, going for dark templars. A good counted to khas build. Khas had built a robotics facility and a 3rd gateway already though, and by the time the dt's got up his ramp, obs was out and they both fleed with only 3 kills between them. This is where khas's lack of experience let him. One left a dark tepmlar in-between the path's of each other's base's and another one just around the corner from the expansion. Khas killed the dark templar and continued on his way to One's base, and One snuck the DT into the natural. Roughly 17 probe kills later, it was defeated. And at the same time, One was well defended with 3 cannons and templars with storm. One got his observers out, leg speed and dragoon range researched and decided it was time to move out. His army was bigger and had better tech, and rolled over khas at his natural. GG!
One 3-2 khas!
gg's khas, thanks for playing! Next oppo gogogo¬! [Submitted by prOxi.One]prOxi.swAMionFriday 10 April 2009 - 17:07:23 Read/Post Comment: 6
prOxi.KOTH Result!
So, the games between me and Thanatos just finished and I emerged the victor! It ended 4-1, but it was closer than the score reads in reality.
Game 1. I opened up with a 1gate build on Python while Bryan opted for a overpool speed build. He built 12 speedlings but was unable to do any damage at this point as I already had 3 zealots on my ramp by the time they had got to my choke. I put up a stargate and he went for a 3hatch hydra build. My two corsairs killed 2 ovie's in total but failed to find the one at my choke point, the most important one of all. I made a couple of dts and managed to sneak one of them around his ling/hydra/ovie at my choke point and got into his main base without him seeing. It reeked havoc once it was there. IIRC, 15 kills, all drone by the time it was taken out. Thana was as good as dead at this point, all I had to do was break out of the cotain, take my expansion and the game was mine. I realized though that I wouldn't be able to do it off 1gate, so added 4 more and got storm and some temps. Once I broke out I took my natural and took my island at a similar time, I was scared of lurks under my ramp fucking me up!! He took his island too and we were level on bases with 3 each. At this point the game was over, but thanatos battled on bravely and my macro was far from perfect so the game lasted a little while longer than it should have. There was a couple of small fights in his choke, with me being deflected a few times, but once all the lurkers were gone and he had only a few ultralisks, I moved in and secured the victory. 1-0 One.
Game 2: Othello! This game I opened fast expand and Thana went for a overpool speed build again. There's not a while lot about this game to say really, from my perspective, I put up 3 cannons at my choke, aswell as a gateway to block (whish failed -_-) and as far as I saw Thana made 12lings. Then my scout probe died, and Thana continued making Lings. I think he had about 18, but don't quite me on that, when he ran into my base, easy as pie as my silly silly probes were badly positined and he had nothing to block him. 7 lings made it into my base and started killing probes. I put up a cannon on my min ling but knew with my pylon out in the open somewhat, it had no chance of finishing in time. I pulled every one of my probes from my minling to fight the lings, and well I was successful in killing them all, I was left with a total of 6 probes. Hardly an ideal situation to be in. I had to nexus's tho, so contined on. I knew my only option was to go some allin build, so put up 3 gateways and a templar archieves and started pumping pure dts Dunno what I expected to happen, but meh, as the first 3 left my base I saw 12 lurks incoming. I was fucked. At the same time there was a lurker drop on my nat cliff, killed 15 or so probes in seconds. I gg'ed at this point. 1-1
Game 3: Blue storm! I'm gonna be alot more brief now.. it's nearly 4 am :S I went fe, he went overpool speed, but lost an ovie early on unfortunatly. He went with a 12 ling runby, but I had 3 well placed cannons and only 1 ling survived to my base, whish was quickly picked off. From here, a standard macro game. Thana took the middle while I took my third. I'd made lots of goons already and obs so getting through the middle wasn't much trouble so I started taking out his 12 exp. as I was taking it out, he had just loaded up lots of ovies for a big doom drop. He lost a couple of ovies and it gave me the time I needed to pull my army back. I sent my army to his top left base and as it was taken out he gg'ed. 2-1 One.
Game 4: Longinus! I opened fe and 12hatch. again, my scout probe died early so I put up 3 cannons and started macroing heavy. I had decided to go zealot/archon and he i THINKKKKK went 2hatch muta build. As his mutas got to my nexus, my cannons were roughly 5 hp from warping in, so he took like 2 shots and ran off before taking any damage. I had a cannon at my nat too so his mutas were usless. I pushed out with 9 zealots and 2 archons, only to be turned away by Lurkers. I took my third and macroed up hard! I moved out on 3 control groups, and at the same time he decided to go doom drop. I avoided his heavily defended 3rd and went straight for his nat, owning everything I came across ! I didn't notice the doom drop for a while, so lost a couple of buildings and all my probes, but was able to defend it easily in the end. At this point I was in his main with zealots and archons and thana gg'ed. 3-1 One
Game 4 was FF'ed by Thanatos as he was short on time, and we had agree'd beforehand that first to 4 would be the winner. It's always a pleasure playing with you Bryan and hope you have a good time in Japan =]

KOTH Result. The KOTH is over and I'm none too pleased to report that I took it down 7-0. There were some good games, it didn't feel like a 7-0 series and it very well may have just been a bad day for Pete who'd whupped my ass the couple of times we played before this.
That said I'm happy I won and even though none of us are in any kind of shape I think you'd have to be made of stone not to grin at the insanity of game 7. Queen HydraLurk vs MASS templars + zealots.
It was challenging playing against such a manly 1 base style of he-toss after getting used to the little sissy girl FE strat that most people employ.
Of course it's up to the team who plays me next but I'm voting for either Pink for nostalgia or Khas because he's way better than me atm with every race and it'd be something to work up to. [Submitted by prOxi.Thanatos]prOxi.swAMionMonday 16 March 2009 - 20:59:11 Read/Post Comment: 6
