So this event was suppose to be huge! The biggest North American LAN event to date! Then... the network had issues the stream wasn't functioning correctly everything that could go wrong, went wrong. This is very unfortunate for MLG and the starcraft community, however, day 9 being the boss that he is still managed to cast off replays with djwheat and JP which managed to save the day even if just for a little while. Other than these hiccups the event was amazing!
Spoiler
Naniwa went on a massive streak of 26 to make it from the open bracket all the way into the finals. His final match was against Kwii. Naniwa managed to pull out the extended series 5-1 or something.
Amazing games make sure to check out the vods.

Are there any games u recommend watching?

Yeah watching the MLG was amazing when it was actually operational. I enjoyed all the naniwa games that I managed to observe. I really liked SeleCT aswell but yeah he did get fairly owned by naniwa T____T but his game on testbug went really well for him even tho he still lost.

To be honest, I am very shocked incontrol got 4th. People are saying he had an easy run so that might have something to do with it, but still surprising.

I looked for bobotastic in the open bracket but couldn't find his name :S anyone know what happened there?

Honestly just watch reps that you want to, takes less time, more accurate view of games without lame commentary.

check out reps here:

Rumor has it that Naniwa paid BoboTastic to not show up so he can take the tournament and not have to face him.

But yea there were a lot of things gone wrong at MLG. A handful of people say that we should be understanding and shit and give them a chance but most of the people say that MLG fucked it up. And I have to agree with the latter. They racked in over 4 million dollars in revenue last year alone... if you got 4 million dollars at your disposal, I expect the production quality to atleast be at par with GOMTV. I've seen many other lans do it a lot more cleaner and crisper such as Assembly, PAX, and DreamHack(of course Dreamhack is a much much bigger LAN).

I don't know, hearing stories from TL.net, seeing all the downtime between matches, just is making me second guess if I should even go MLG Anaheim. Spectators on TL.net were saying you couldn't hear the commentators and thats pretty shitty. The whole purpose of watching it live is to hear the commentators as you spectate and get pumped up.

The one thing I do understand is the network issues. That was nothing that MLG could do it about it and that's all Blizzards fault for not having LAN support.

Indeed, that venue apparently had problems last year as well with connectivity, maybe its a different one, or I am just deluded, but Sundance was talking about it on SotG I think.

Also happy that incontrol showed that he really is one of the best players in NA, despite all the doubters. The guy is good, his weakness is he has a lot of variance in his play imo, so I think he will be a later bloomer than a lot of the consummate pros. Just like in BW I don't really see him winning bit tournies for a few years, until his strategy and builds are more refined.

I'm not surprised incontrol got 4th at all considering he's won WCG USA Finals before.

Yeah according to people who went to go see MLG live, you couldn't hear the commentators, just the in-game sounds =(.
