The SCII Bonjwa?

Just a simple discussion,

Who do you guys think will be the first SCII Bonjwa?
And why?

I was thinking about it and it's not really possible to name a Bonjwa for another year... But on that note, it would have to be a very recent pro... I was thinking players like MMA and Alicia have a very good shot at becoming Bonjwas. I would hope HuK gets his shit together and starts winning a tonne of Korean tourneys but that's highly unlikely.

Hmm, what do you guys think?


Note: For those who don't know what a Bonjwa is, it's pretty much just a name given by Koreans to name those players who dominate the SC2 pro scene for a long period of time. Boxer, NaDa, iloveoov, SaViOr and Flash where all SC:BW Bonjwa's. (4/5 of those players are Terran's, coinscidence? I think not! Imba? I think yes!)

Yeah I'm guessing you brought this up here because of the thread on TeamLiquid.

Personally, I think Flash.

I don't read TL nearly enough, so no I didn't get it from there, my mate asked me and it seemed an interesting topic. But obviously TL is where he got it from.
How is Flash going to be the SCII Bonjwa?? Is he making a return to SCII or something?

I think it is inevitable that he will come across. Obviously not while he's still raking in the cash from Brood War, but once that point passes...

Dosen't Flash have a really screwed up wrist?

it may easier to play sc2 at a slower rate, but yeah it's massively screwed up

Besides Flash isn't a bonjwa in Broodwar, that term has been retired, and for good reason as well.
There isn't anything that you can define as a bonjwa, the chance of perhaps an sc2 'Bonjwa' is unlikely and the idea of anyone ever being labeled a 'Bonjwa' is close to none because the communities hate it.
The game is new and the pool of skill is very vast, combined with the fact that it is relatively easy to beat to knock out even the top players, they are never going to have the same aura of invincibility that the other bonjwa's experienced

Sorry Tester, but the title Bonjwa is very fitting for a player like Flash...
Brood War was more of a diverse game then the shit we play now, so I would say it would be easier to become a Bonjwa... If players like MVP and MKP, who are considered among the best SCII players, can get knocked out so easily then it's obvious they just aren't that great of players.
I think we have yet to see the full potential of a SCII pro. There is still a loooooot of room for improvement and there isn't a single pro who is even near perfection yet.
Hopefully someone will close to that perfection stage and be a model player for us all :D

Flash actually isn't considered a bonjwa because of the controversial term

I don't know how to define the term. But from the player's who have been titled a Bonjwa, I kinda get how it works?

koreans have retired the term, it's too controversial
